FACT SHEET: REPI Challenge Highlights Innovative Solutions to Preserve and Enhance Readiness in Hawaii
This year, the 2022 REPI Challenge will provide Hawaii $19.2 million in program funds to be coupled with $15.1 million in partner contributions. These funds will help implement three projects focusing on shared challenges on the islands of O'ahu, Kaua'i, and Hawai'i. All three projects will strategically focus on improving coastal and forest resilience, which benefits long-term sustainability for local communities and the DoD mission. By allocating funding to projects in Hawaii, the REPI Challenge will contribute to initiatives advancing the military mission at Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands, Joint Base Pearl HarborHickam, and Pōhakuloa Training Area.
